Incorporating an on-chip resolver sensor interface, the V850E2/PJ4-E 32-bit microcontroller from Renesas Electronics realizes both higher performance and lower system cost for automotive control systems including motor control for hybrid electric vehicles or electric vehicles and other automotive applications. The combination or P series’ dual lockstep and the resolver sensor interface ensures ISO 26262 safety standard compliance. In addition, the microcontroller integrates an A/D converter and a three-phase PWM timer. The dual core lockstep system’s comparator continually calculates and detects failures, making it possible tı achieve a real-time high failure detection rate via only hardware. Additional features include 1 MB ROM, 80KB RAM and 128MHz CPU frequency. Standard CAN, SCI, and UART are available for communication functions.
