Murata has extended its range of open frame AC to DC power supplies with the new PQC600. With its highly efficient and power dense design, the PQC600 meets the needs of the latest medical and industrial applications, including hospital beds, dental chairs, medical equipment and industrial process machinery.
Medical device safety certification
Its reliable performance in medical and industrial environments is guaranteed by certification to the IEC 60601-1 Edition 3 medical safety standard, which includes 2 Means of Patient Protection (MOPP) from primary to secondary, 1 MOPP from chassis to ground and 1 MOPP from output to chassis. In addition, the PQC600 is suitable for use with medical devices with Type B or Type BF applied parts and complies with IEC 60601-1-2 4th Edition for EMC standards, ensuring robust electromagnetic compatibility.
The PQC600 utilises Murata Power Solutions' (MPS) bespoke transformer design and optimised layout and packaging. With a 600W forced air cooling design, it achieves an impressive 95% efficiency at full load. The power supply features optimised interleaved power factor correction (PFC) and back-end synchronous rectification. All of this is housed in a compact, layered design that ensures superior thermal performance. In addition, the PQC600 incorporates droop current sharing, allowing multiple units to be configured in parallel for greater power scalability
