Based on Sony's XCI smart camera, Elvia developed its EXCI-3 ANPR camera for automatic number plate recognition. This compact all-in-one module has a low power consumption and an x86 processor for fast analysis of the camera information. It facilitates the setup of intelligent transport systems thus helping to ease congestion and reduce the number of accidents. It is ideal to be used in traffic projects, such as access control, e-tolling, law enforcement or parking and traffic management. The camera can read number plates in Latin, Arabic, Chinese and Cyrillic characters.
