AS-i M8 Modules

Due to their small design, the new AS-i M8 modules from ifm electronic are suited for applications where space is at a premium. In addition, the units have been equipped with the ecolink connection technology. The full potting ensures particularly high shock and vibration resistance. The Compact M8 modules require little space due to their small width of only 30 mm. They are suited for applications in robotics, handling technology and assembly technology. Due to their high protection rating IP 67 / IP 68 they can be used in the field, i.e. close to the process. There are no long distances between sensors / actuators and the control cabinet. Installation on robotic arms is also possible without any problems. The series is available with tried-and-tested AS-i technology or as a passive variant with round cable connection. The modules are installed via two fixing holes each from the front or from the side. Using the ecolink technology, mounting faults can be reliably avoided. The integrated mechanical end stop protects the O-ring from destruction caused by over-tightening. So, rapid and secure installation is possible without a torque wrench. The new AS-i Compact M8 module can always be reliably used even in narrow applications and under harsh conditions.
