Siemens has added the Simatic IPC827C Box PC for harsh industrial environments to its family of high-end industrial PCs with powerful 2010 Intel Core i3, i5 and i7 processors. The new device has almost double the processing power of its predecessor, and with five PCI/PCIe slots for expansion cards, it offers a high degree of flexibility. The box PC is suitable for high-speed measuring, control and visualization tasks at the machine level. The rugged PC is designed for continuous 24-hour use as well as for high temperature, vibration, shock and EMC loads.
