Enclosed in a robust industrial housing, the ConfocalDT 2451 and 2471 high performance controllers from Micro Epsilon feature high signal-to-noise ratio. Measurement rates of 10kHz are achieved using an LED and 70kHz with a xenon light source. Integrating a high performance CCD as the sensor element, the controllers offer Ethernet, EtherCAT, RS-232 and analog output interfaces. Active exposure regulation of a laser line enables rapid, precise surface compensation in dynamic measuring processes on a range of different target surfaces. Measurement channels can be configured remotely over Ethernet using intuitive, web-based software. The controller offers specific calibration options for thickness measurement. Its passive cooling system minimizes fan noise and interference. All confocal sensors from the company can be connected to the controllers. Standard sensors with fixed lenses and miniature axial or radial sensors with 4 or 8mm diameter can also be used.
