T-Pole announced its mii45, a Core 2 Duo Box PC, specifically designed for industrial applications, fan cooled, which offers the same reliability of a fanless PC. The intelligent power supply is the real PC brain. It provides a full UPS functionality by using external or internal battery pack. It has a 12 Vdc auxiliary output, 2 optoisolated digital input and output and an ignition signal. Battery informations are available from remote via TCP/IP. The T-Power utility allows the user to define the power-on sequences. As a feature, it is possible to supply to system 12 Vdc even with lead batteries (SLA). This can be done thanks to the power supply which can increase the voltage for the battery, up to 13,8 Vdc. The system is based on an aluminium mold which works as an heatsink and on which is installed the board. It makes the system very rugged. The cooling air, flows inside a tunnel which keeps cold the PC. The electronic components are installed on both sides of the tunnel leaving the parts dust-free and so suitable for challenging environments. The device has been specifically designed for automation and industrial control. The 3 available Ethernet ports are suitable for use with fieldbus like Ethercat and for visual inspections with IP cameras. The IPC with 1, 2 or 3 PCI and PCIe expansion slots extends the use to applications with other fieldbus (CAN, ProfiBUS, etc.) or with other add-on boards. mii45 can be supplied with Windows Embedded Standard 2009 (XPe), Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES7), Linux and other OS.
