3S-Smart Software Solutions, after the release of CODESYS Automation Server, launched in December CODESYS V3.5 SP14, an IEC 61131-3 development platform, designed for applications in Industry 4.0 thanks of new functions. CODESYS V3.5 SP14 is compatible with about 1000 different intelligent device platforms.
64-bit version available
The runtime system is now available as a 64-bit version for all ARM/Cortex-based platforms, with multi-core support (including for the Raspberry Pi) as an optional extra. Further cyber security functions have also been added to make systems with this kind of configuration fit for use in Industry 4.0 environments. For instance, it is now possible to configure user administration and communication encrypted and signed with X.509 certificates as a user option.
Designed to allow any external system
The PLCHandler has been upgraded too. This add-on is now also available as a 64-bit version for Windows or Linux and is designed to allow any external system, such as graphic user interfaces and configuration tools, symbolic access to application software data. This communication channel can also be encrypted and aims to support simple standard monitoring for embedded devices of lower performance standards.
