Based on a multifunctional concept, the PCI interface card PCI-PIO from BMC Messsysteme combines a counter card and an incremental encoder card into one single integrated design. This digital I/O card with its short latency of the PCI interface records CMOS/TL compatible digital signals and outputs them at two bidrectional 16-bit ports. It is an ideal device for controlling tasks. The PCI short card in 3.3V and 5V mode is installed in a free PCI slot. The digital lines are available at a D-Sub37 female. The PC housing provides optimum protection against interferences. Up to three 32-bit counters or incremental encoders can be connected at any digital inputs allowing the PCI-PIO to be used for the acquisition of counting pulses, the determination of position, or for distance and angular measurements with max. 1MHz total acquisition rate.
