Using the resonant circuit measuring principle, the LI –Q17 miniature linear displacement sensor from Turck features a measuring range of 50 to 200 mm. It is capable of functioning reliably under electromagnetic fields, caused by large motors or welding plants. The robust inductive sensor comes in a IP 67 rated housing that is available in four different sizes with 50, 100, 150, and 200 mm measuring range. Operating over -40 to 70 °C, these first models have 0 to 10 V, 4 to 20 mA, 0.5 to 4.5 V analogue outputs. Ensuing high resolution SSI model will be available. In spite of their compact design, the sensor family has a mere 10 mm blind zone at the connecting and 22 mm at the head end. The connection is via a pigtail with a 30 cm cable and an M12 connector or a 2 m open connection line. Robust metal clips, latched into the sensor housing, allow vertical or horizontal installation. The position generator’s electronic module is pivoted and allows exact positioning corresponding to the type of installation. Special measuring ranges can be programmed on-site.
