ExxonMobil's Mobil SHCTM Chain 240 has helped extend equipment life and reduce maintenance costs at a poultry production plant in Mexico.
Located in Jalisco, central Mexico, the Proteina Animal plant operates five production lines equipped with Huhtamaki oven chains, which run at temperatures as high as 176oC (349oF).
Every two months, production shut down on each of the five lines when the chain links showed signs of deposit formation and oil degradation. Seeking to reduce downtime and control its increasing maintenance costs, Proteina Animal asked ExxonMobil for a solution.
Working with Lubtrac, its local distributor, ExxonMobil sent its field engineers to the plant. Once on site, the team recommended switching lubricant to Mobil SHC Chain 240.
After introducing Mobil SHC Chain 240 and implementing a robust maintenance programme, Proteina Animal increased operational efficiency and reduced unexpected downtime by 336 hours. All of these benefits led to an annual saving of US $176,000 in the first year.
Features and potential benefits include:
· Mobil SHCTM Chain 240 helped extend equipment life
· Advanced lubricant helps protect chain links at up to 290oC (555oF)
· Increased uptime by 336 hours and enhanced safety
