A leading manufacturer of durable plastics has realised significant energy savings at its production plant as a result of switching to Mobil DTE 10 Excel™ 68.
The introduction of the high performance hydraulic oil helped to enhance overall hydraulic efficiency, resulting in energy savings of 4.28% (1).
The manufacturer produces plastic buckets, pails and drums. It operates Windsor Armour injection moulding machines with clamping strengths from 30 to 650 tonnes.
When the company wanted to reduce its power consumption, ExxonMobil field engineers suggested a month-long trial of Mobil DTE 10 Excel at the customer site.
Mobil DTE 10 Excel is a high performance anti-wear hydraulic oil. The oil is designed specifically to meet the needs of modern, high pressure, industrial and mobile equipment.
The trial showed improved efficiency of the machine compared with the previous lubricant, which resulted in an overall annual saving of $3,000.
"Plastics manufacturing is a highly competitive and challenging sector, so to remain competitive companies must explore every avenue to optimise their operation," said Mohamed Mourad, industrial marketing advisor EAME at ExxonMobil. "Lubricants are a small part of a plant's maintenance costs, but they can have a significant impact on both productivity and efficiency - resulting in long-term savings for your operation."
