ExxonMobil has launched its most advanced mineral-based oil for ammonia compressors used in refrigeration systems. Mobil GargoyleTM Arctic 68 NH has been designed to help improve system efficiency, and offers cost benefits for industrial refrigeration operators.
Mobil Gargoyle Arctic 68 NH has been developed to meet the growing use of ammonia as a natural refrigerant.
The new oil is designed for large industrial reciprocating and rotary refrigeration compressors used in food freezing, cold storage and marine applications.
Benefits include:
· Excellent wear protection under extreme conditions, particularly low temperatures
· Low volatility and thermal stability
· Improvement of system efficiency, offering cost benefits for industrial refrigeration operators
· Extended oil drain intervals, superior oil flow and wide temperature performance
"It is predicated that ammonia will be one of the main industrial refrigerants by 2020," said Rainer Lange, Mobil SHC brand supervisor at ExxonMobil. "Our new premium lubricant for refrigeration compressors not only meets this growing need, but offers a huge range of additional benefits, giving operators a cost-effective solution to help improve system efficiency."
Mobil Gargoyle Arctic NH 68 follows the launch of Mobil SHCTM Gargoyle 80 POE, a synthetic oil for CO2 refrigeration applications in April 2016.
