Resistant to thermal cycling and chemicals including water, inorganic salts, acids, and alkalis, the EP30D-10 two component elastomer system, from Master Bond, offers the strength, flexibility, performance, and adhesive qualities traditionally associated with epoxies, along with the toughness and abrasion resistance of polyurethanes. Serviceable over 4K to 104°C, it has been successfully used in numerous cryogenic applications and cures at room temperature, or more rapidly at elevated temperatures. Parts more than an inch thick can be cast and cured without undue exothermic development. Featuring electrical insulation properties and optical clarity, the flexible system, once cured, develops a tensile strength of 103 bar and an elongation exceeding 150% at 24°C. It bonds well to a variety of substrates including, metals, wood, concrete, glass, vulcanized rubbers, and many plastics. Completely reactive, the adhesive does not contain any solvents or diluents and is formulated to cure with minimal shrinkage. Both parts are clear and have a 100:05 mix ratio by weight, with a mixed viscosity <100,000 cps, and a long working life of 180 minutes at room temperature for a 100g mass.
