The absolute, non-contact Temposonics RF position sensor from MTS Sensor Technologie can easily be installed in tight spaces and has a measuring range up to 20 m. The sensor element that provides the positioning signal is housed in a flexible plastic tube with fabric coating. A pressure-proof hydraulic rod that protects the measuring pipe against environmental influences can be supplied in option. This flexible position sensor can be easily installed and dismounted and makes redundant mounting possible. The sensor can operate in a curved position to detect curvilinear measurements, at a radius up to 250 mm. It provides accurate sensing results, with a 0.0025 mm repeatability, and a linearity deviation of < +/- 0.02 % F.S.
