Conventional distributed servo solutions are complex and expensive. The SK 200E frequency inverters from NORD DRIVESYSTEMS form a cost-effective alternative for positioning tasks in remote locations. For motor terminal box mounting, the units are come in sizes 1 to 4 with a 0.25 to 22 kW performance range. They feature an integrated POSICON positioning control module that enables programming of up to 63 absolute positions and connection options for incremental and absolute encoders. For cost-sensitive applications, the series can be used with standard asynchronous motors even in tasks where relative or absolute position control is required. Position information can be transferred via a fieldbus interface. Additionally, up to six position increments can be stored internally. The control module's motion algorithm ensures fast and safe positioning in all tasks. The basic versions include encoder evaluation, positioning control, an integrated brake chopper, a control module for an electromagnetic brake, plus a sensorless current vector control that allows a position to be held under strong load fluctuations. A wide range of internal and external expansion modules allow customization.
