Harting is getting ready for Hannover Messe. The German company, established in Espelkamp, Germany, in 1945 as a manufacturer of industrial connection technology, counts today more than 5000 employees around the globe, 15 production plants, 44 sales companies, and a sales revenue of 750 million euro for the year 2018/2019, three quarters of which were generated outside Germany.
This year’s Hannover Messe will be the perfect setting for Harting to celebrate the important milestone of 75 years of activity. ''We are an international company and Hannover Messe – with its focus on Asia, especially Indonesia, and on digitalization – is the ideal place to show how our solutions and innovations can contribute to the technological progress,’’ stated Detlef Sieverdingbeck, General Manager Corporate Communication & Branding at Harting.
''All for Ethernet''
Industrial transformation with the claim “All for Ethernet” is Harting’s mission statement for this edition of Hannover Fair. With the advent of industry 4.0 and the growing number of devices connected, Ethernet has become fundamental to send data back and forth. The German company, which also produces software and hardware for the automation industry, is working to set the standards for industrial networks and is strengthening its commitment to facilitating the communication between the world of IT and OT. With the RJ Industrial®, Harting developed its first RJ45 interface suitable for industrial application.
On January 23, 2020 the basis for the adoption of IIoT networks based on Single Pair Ethernet has been settled with the publication of IEC 63171-6. For the first time, Harting will present at Hannover Messe its serial parts for the IP20 version of the T1 Industrial interface in the field assembly format in AWG 28-22 and overmoulded AWG 28-22.
Solutions for energy storage
The industrial transformation also requires to adapt fast to market needs. To reply to the high demand for energy storage units made of lithium-ion cells, Harting has developed HAN S, a connector for modular battery storage that meets all stringent requirements and standards for energy storage systems (ESS).
Harting at Hannover Messe
Today’s companies are now trying to face and shape the industrial change, offering digital solutions and real applications over mere products. In order to better position itself and prepare the next wave of change, Harting moved its traditional location at Hannover Messe from hall 11 to hall 12 and conceived a new booth based on a multi-layered concept to show different concepts, from mobility, to robotics, digital solutions, and advanced manufacturing, among others.
The ''Plaza’’ aims to create an area where people can easily share and connect with the company. To reiterate its commitment to the development of digital solutions, Harting announced the launch of a new website soon and renews its collaboration with the IT company PerFact, to take digital twin to the next level.
