A highly robust incremental encoder, the Sendix H100 from Kübler withstands, thanks to its HD Safety Lock, axial and radial loads of 300 and 400 N respectively. Optionally, a mechanical speed switch can be integrated for a reliable protection against excess rotation speed. The extra-large and robust flange bearing with a wide span increases the load-bearing capacity and operational life. The cover-side floating bearing in turn avoids internal tension. The revolving sampling unit ensures consistent signal quality, in the event of substantial temperature increases, during which the sensor unit is mechanically decoupled from the housing. The encoder operates over a temperature range of -40 to +100°C. Typical temporary encoder loads, for instance due to an axial overload during installation, or high vibrations are largely tolerated. Pre-existing defects, or even a failure of the encoder in the field, are thus avoided. Even the toughest working environments do not affect the resilient device as it has been designed for these very conditions. The encoder features IP 66 protection, resistance to saline water, double sealing on the shaft-side, a friction sealing against moisture, and the additional labyrinth sealing against the ingress of dust. The protection of the friction sealing against hose water guarantees high resistance to adverse weather conditions. And ultimately the keyway of the shaft guarantees perfect form closure to the application. The innovative plug-in spring clamps in the connection cover enable simple and prompt connection of the cable. Allowing separate installation of the encoder and the electrics, this plug-in capability facilitates encoder’s field installation or its replacement in the event of maintenance. No tools are required to connect the cable on the spring clamp. The connection options can also be simply and variably configured as the connection cover can be rotated 180°, which is particularly advantageous in applications with tight spaces. The encoders are available with a wide variety of resolutions and switching speeds.
