Helical Bevel Gear Units

Designed as washdown versions, the new two-stage helical bevel gear units from Nord Drivesystems withstand frequent intense and aggressive cleaning. They are equally suitable for use with acids and alkaline solutions. Manufactured from die-cast aluminum, their housings resist corrosion considerably better than steel models. Through NSD tupH surface treatment the gear units can be equipped with extra protection for specific applications. They cover five frame sizes with torques ranging from 90 to 660 Nm. All models are available in two versions: an extremely lightweight but sturdy open frame style and a closed type. They require neither an inspection cover nor a screw-on input cover. Compared with its predecessor model, the power density has been improved by 60% while the lubricant volume has been minimized. Since the installation measurements remain essentially the same, users can easily replace existing gear units. The compact gear units feature larger, highly resilient output shaft bearings for high forces. Optional double seals ensure increased safety. Equipped with a short IEC adapter, the units can be combined with the company's motors and with those from other manufacturers.
