Manufacturers and Handlers of hazardous goods are invited to attend a seminar about the new CLP Regulations on the classification, labelling and packaging of mixtures before the deadline for updates on 1st June 2015. The seminar will be held at the premises of leading label and software company Hibiscus PLC in Leeds on 12th November. Attendees will be informed about the legislation changes for mixtures and advised of the best way to update their own labels. Industry speakers will also discuss what the CLP Regulation for mixtures means for the sector.
Aligning the previous EU legislation to the Globally Harmonised System of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals (GHS), the legislation sees the orange pictograms currently used in Europe being replaced with new pictograms with a white background. James Killerby, director at Hibiscus PLC, commented, "The deadline for the CLP Regulation for mixtures on 1st June 2015 marks a huge but positive change for the industry. Aligning the legislation globally will encourage and facilitate the international trade in chemicals, as well as ensuring the protection of human health and the environment across the globe."
