NXP Semiconductors introduced the Layerscape LS1028A industrial applications processor. Including a TSN-enabled Ethernet switch and Ethernet controllers to support converged IT and OT networks, this SoC comes with two powerful 64-bit Arm v8 cores. These support real-time processing for industrial control, as well as virtual machines for edge computing in the IoT. Moreover, the integrated GPU and LCD controller enable HMI systems with next-generation interfaces.
Comes with a reference design board (RDB) to evaluate the capabilities of the LS1028 family of SoCs
The LS1028A can implement trusted platforms using features provided by Trust Architecture such as secure boot, secure key storage, and tamper detection. The Security Engine (SEC) delivers cryptographic acceleration for encrypted Ethernet communication and disk storage. It also offloads public/private key transactions with support for elliptic-curve cryptography (ECC). Furthermore, the LS1028A family of SoCs can operate continuously in temperatures between -40°C and +105°C.
