ProSoft Technology launched in conjunction with SweetWilliam Automation an industrial hotspot series of radios with the ScadaMobile application for the iPhone and iPod platform. This provides engineers with access to live process control variables and the ability to modify this data remotely from their iPhones. The application creates a secure wireless interface between an iPhone and a wireless network, allowing the iPhone to read Modbus TCP/IP and EtherNet/IP process control variables from programmable automation controllers and programmable logic Controllers. The variables can be monitored in real time and adjustments can be made on the fly. Cumulative security features are offered by both the iPhone and the Industrial Hotspot radios to prevent unauthorized access to the network.
