Designed to seal cable diameters between 4 and 7 mm, Spelsberg’s PV48 junction box provides a specific and inexpensive solution to extending cables on photovoltaic panels, which rarely have more than 2 m of cable attached. IP 65 rated, it offers a quick and secure cage clamp connection. The junction box’ two in-line entry points use M16 cable glands for cable entry. A 5.5mm flat blade screwdriver is used to open the connection point, which the exposed wire is pushed through. When the screwdriver is removed, a secure connection is made automatically. The box’ cover clips into place, forming an IP 65 seal, and can easily be removed, if required, at a later date. The box has been ergonomically designed to be the ideal size and shape to allow for quick installation, at the same time allowing it to be placed discretely in most environments. Moreover, because it is halogen free it can be used in many industrial areas.
