A silicone gel filling the junction boxes guarantees a protection rating of IP68 at a depth of up to 1.3m, making these junction boxes ideal for underground connections for lighting systems. The junction box measures 45x95x24 mm, has a 4 way cable entry and is available in a range of three sizes which accept cable dimensions between 6.5mm and 12mm. The enclosure uses a common terminal block to make the connection, which is then surrounded by a silicone gel to form a seal. The enclosure clips shut and can be easily reopened with a screwdriver. The silicone gel provides excellent waterproofing, operating temperatures from -50 to 150°C and a high elastic memory allowing the box to be re-used. Their life span is over 10 years. These junction boxes are available in blue, green and yellow, indicating which cable diameter they are suited for.
