The size of the camera sensor is one of the most important factors in determining overall camera performance and image quality. A key advantage of 1-inch sensors is that they are larger than most sensors used in nuclear cameras, allowing them to capture more light and produce higher image quality. The new Model 408-000 demonstrates Resolve Optics' proven ability to modify and adapt one of its existing radiation resistant lens designs to meet a customer's specific requirements.
The Model 408-000 non-browning 6x zoom lens offers high performance over an extended focal length range of 24-144mm, making it ideal for remote monitoring applications in nuclear reprocessing and power plants. The Model 408-000 speciality glass components can withstand long-term exposure to radiation, up to a dose of 100 million RAD and without loss of transmission and minimal colour change. Operating at f/3.6, the Model 408-000 provides good image resolution and minimal geometric distortion from 400 to 750nm. When focused at infinity, the Model 408-000 maintains focus throughout the zoom range without the need to refocus.
