Offering highly accurate measurements over large distances, with guaranteed color independence across the entire measuring range, ipf electronic´s PT67 family of laser distance sensors has up to 4 m measurement range. It is offered in two versions; Type PT670020 with a 4 - 20mA analog current output and the type PT670025 variant with a 0 - 10V DC voltage output. With the aid of the teach-in input, it is possible to limit the standard measurement range (200 – 4000 mm). In this case, the analog output is adapted to the learnt-in measurement range. The sensor has a very short response time of only 10ms. The robust, compact metal housing, a washable pane of glass and an IP 67 protection class guarantee the longevity of the sensor, even under harsh industrial conditions. An alarm output is integrated as standard. In addition, the sensor has a 5-pin rotatable M12 connector. The PT67 measures with consistent reliability on all colors including black by running according to a principle based on propagation technology. Propagation measurement is a process for the indirect measurement of distances by measuring the time that a signal needs to pass through the measured section. In practice this means that the transmitter transmits a signal package which is reflected on the object and picked up by the receiver. In the sensor the elapsed time is evaluated and converted into a distance. Using propagation technology, objects which are far away can be reliably picked up with precision. Typical applications include: packet positioning in conveyor systems, checks for sagging, paper roll diameter checkspackage positioning, and applications in the printing industry.
