Housed in IP 65 compliant enclosures, the DS2100N and DS2400N series laser scanners from Datalogic can efficiently be implemented in most common automated warehousing applications including conveyor sorting and picking systems, as well as in automated shop floor for items and parts tracking, process control and packaging. For OEMs, they are particularly suitable for integration in automatic machinery, such as chemical and biomedical analysis machines, in addition to packaging and document handling machines. Both scanners are reliable and achieve very good read rates; the DS2400N offers enhanced reading on low-contrast or difficult barcodes as well as on fast-moving codes. Dedicated to efficient and fast scanner interconnection, the scanners’ ID-NET high speed bus accomplishes high speed data collection among readers without the need of an external multiplexing device. Offering ease of use, the built-in human machine interface X-PRESS also simplifies installation and maintenance. It clearly presents status and diagnostic information via a five LED bar-graph, where as a single multi-function key provides immediate access to such relevant functions as Test Mode, AutoLearn and AutoSetup. Equipped with the company’s intuitive and multi-language GENIUS software configuration program, the scanners are easily and rapidly programmed. All models are come with software that allows various functions such as ON/OFF motor switching and motor rotation speed to be controlled. The scanners feature the company’s proprietary ACB (Advanced Code Builder) software, which decodes partially damaged or normally unreadable bar codes, due to their high tilt angle, thus increasing the read percentage.
