The Sinamics G150 series of converters from 1500 to 2700 kilowatts from Siemens Drive Technologies Division, are low-voltage converters designed for applications without regenerative feedback. In case of use with pumps, fans and compressors the energy consumption can be lowered with 70% thanks to the variable-speed drive operation. The cabinet units can be connected to 2-winding transformers. In order to minimize low-frequency harmonic effects, 12-pulse operation on a 3-winding transformer is available as a standard feature. These converters are quiet and compact thanks to the use of IGBT power semiconductors and a special cooling concept. They comply with IP20 to IP54 protection degrees. Their simple design makes them easy to maintain.
