The M12 connector is one of the most widely spread connector for industrial applications. There are several reasons for this: the mating side in accordance with DIN EN 61076-2-101, worldwide availability, various fields of application, and customized solutions. Next to the transfer of analogue and digital signals and data transfer with high bandwidth, the use as compact power connector is now also possible. Until now it hadn't been possible to connect power cables to field wireable M12 connectors because the clamps were limited to a maximum cross section of 0,75 mm² and an outlet diameter of 8 mm. Now, the new version offered by Binder can clamp a 1,5 mm² cross section with ferrules and the outlet reaches up to 10 mm with degree of protection IP67. It is also possible to conduct 8 A per contact in an environmental temperature of 40°C. In order to reduce the transfer resistance and the lost heat value the contacts have got gold plated contacts. The connectors are intermateable with all 4 and 5 pole A-coded versions which are in accordance with DIN EN61076-2-101. The corresponding panel mount connectors with PG 9 thread and UL AWG 18 single leads with a length of 200 m are available from now on. Versions with other housing contours and with dip-solder contacts for PCB mount are also possible. The newest addition to the product range is the corresponding panel mount connector with M20 x 1,5 fastening thread with screw clamp contacts for on-site assembly of wires and single leads of 1,5 mm².
