The quad stack NEMA size 23 brushless 1.8° stepping motor delivers speed-torque comparable to a single stack NEMA 34, but with a footprint 1/3 smaller (187 vs. 297cm3) providing an ideal motion control solution for applications demanding high performance but with very limited space for motor, driver, controller and encoder. In addition, the quad stack 23 motor solution costs 20% less than the size 34. The MDrive23Plus with quad stack motor is capable of full (256 x 200) microstepping with a +12 to +60VDC integrated driver. Three versions are available: Microstepping with step and direction input, Motion Control with intelligent programmable controller, and Speed Control with velocity controller. They achieve smoothness and performance by applying innovative techniques to control current flow through the motor so resonance is significantly dampened over the entire speed range and audible noise is reduced. Oversized input capacitors minimize power line surges, reducing problems that can occur with long cable runs and multiple drive systems.
