The Schmersal Group has appointed Michael Mandel as the managing director of K.A. Schmersal GmbH & Co. KG (Wuppertal/ Wettenberg). The 45-year-old will run the company alongside the managing directors and shareholders Heinz Schmersal and Philip Schmersal. In his new position, which he took over on 1 April 2015, Michael Mandel will also continue to take responsibility for running the Technical Division.

Michael Mandel's professional career has taken him from Elka Elektronik GmbH in Lüdenscheid to Werner Turck GmbH & Co. KG (TURCK duotec GmbH) in Halver, where he was responsible for the customer-specific development division. In 2011, he moved to the Schmersal group, initially as the head of research and development. In 2014, Michael Mandel was named head of the Technical Division. In this position, he is not only responsible for the whole product development process, but also for project management in Germany, Brazil, China and India.
