There has been a leadership change at MISUMI Europe: since 1 October 2009, Yukihiko Nagaoka (48) has taken over responsibility as Head of European Operation and Managing Director for the European activities of the MISUMI Group.
The branch in Schwalbach, with its central warehouse, and a production site in eastern Europe belong to the European Division of the Japanese specialists for standard, purchased and custom-made mechanical parts. The sales area covers all European countries and Africa.
After graduating in Business Studies from Keio University in Tokyo, Nagaoka worked in various posts in the audio-visual industry for the entertainment electronics specialist JVC, from 1983 until February 2009, ending up as Associate Director, Deputy General Manager of the Camcorder Division and General Manager of International Sales & Marketing. In March he transferred to MISUMI. "The unique business model, which has been so very successful in Japan, impressed me", says the new European head. "To join in the work on global expansion was an attractive professional challenge for me." His aim is to continue along the successful course of growth in Europe and Africa of his predecessor Yasuyuki Matsumoto.
