The starting signal has been given. Mitsubishi Electric will build a new office and administration building in Ratingen-Ost. The contract concerning the new building was signed and notarized on 17 January 2014. The company subsequently announced the plans in a press conference. The German branch of Mitsubishi Electric Europe has been located in Ratingen, near Düsseldorf, for over 30 years and due to its good logistic infrastructure Ratingen has been chosen again as the location for the new office. "With the decision to invest in Ratingen in a new building in accordance with the international environmental standard, LEED Gold (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design), we strengthen our engagement in the region and are clearly committed to the Ratingen location", explains Akihiko Furuse, President of the German branch of Mitsubishi Electric Europe. "The German branch is one of our most important locations in Europe".

The company is building and buying the new complex with its partner "RSPartner Immobiliengesellschaft mbH" on approx. 9.000 square metres of land at Balke-Dürr-Allee. Approx. 16.000 square metres gross office space over 5.5 floors offers sufficient space for offices, meeting rooms, technology and training centers, which comply with the high standards of a future oriented working environment. In addition an underground car park with about 500 parking spaces will be constructed. The estate agent "Savills" acted exclusively as agent of the property.
Construction of the new office building at Balke-Dürr-Allee will begin in March 2014, with estimated completion in Autumn 2015.
