Simotion D4x5-2 multi-axis controllers from Siemens Drive Technologies Division feature extended functions such as a quantity structure of 128 axes, Profinet interface and technology I/Os as well as a computing performance increased by a factor of 3. This multi-axis control system for production machines covers a performance range from simple positioning tasks to applications with extremely short cycle times or large numbers of axes. The system is scalable and flexible and has an integrated drive control based on the Sinamics S120 series of drives. The I/0 interface is integrated into the modules. The onboard interface is equipped with an integrated 3-port switch facilitating the construction of network topologies without the need for additional switches.
