NBK has developed ball rollers that can transport heavy objects smoothly and efficiently. By surrounding the main ball with multiple sub-balls, NBK has achieved smooth ball rotations with a small friction coefficient, allowing for the transport of workpieces with minimal force. The ball rollers can rotate smoothly in any 360° direction, making it easy to change transport directions.
One of the key features of NBK's ball rollers is their low coefficient of friction. To measure this, a heavy object was loaded onto three ball rollers, and the force required to make it start moving was measured using a push gauge. The resulting starting coefficient of friction ranged from 0.03 for upward type ball rollers with a stainless steel main ball to 0.15 for plunger type ball rollers with a stainless steel main ball.
NBK offers a wide range of ball roller types to suit different needs. For example, the lineup includes various types such as set screws, hexagon head bolts, and round head bolts. There are also all-stainless-steel types with excellent corrosion resistance, resin ball types that don't damage workpieces, and PEEK types suitable for cleanroom. Types with a resin main unit even come with a drain hole, making them ideal for use in food manufacturing lines that require cleaning.
Plunger type ball rollers are another option, with an internal spring that enables them to receive an unbalanced load equally. They can also be used as a general ball plunger for workpiece fixing and positioning. Meanwhile, downward type ball rollers can be used in any direction, thanks to their built-in strike plate that ensures proper contact between the main ball and sub-ball. They also feature a dust-proof seal to prevent dirt or dust infiltration. These ball rollers are recommended for use as casters for carrying trolleys.
If you have special needs for ball rollers, NBK can manufacture them according to customized dimensions, shapes, materials, surface treatment, cleanroom wash, and other special specifications.
