Steve Herd will take on the newly created role of Head of Customer Proposition and Product Management with immediate effect at Distrelec, European distributor of electronics, automation and measurement technology.

Driven by the opportunity to transform and develop the business, Herd has been fundamental to Distrelec’s growth and success since 2015. In his latest role as Head of Category Management, Herd was integral to the set up of Distrelec’s ‘Enterprise Hub’ in Manchester in 2017.  With over 19 years experience within the electronics industry, previously with Farnell element14, Herd brings a wealth of knowledge and understanding of delivering the optimum product portfolio and service offering to best serve the needs of engineers.  A results driven leader, the new role allows Herd to expand his current reponsibilities to drive the Distrelec customer proposition, ensuring the brand delivers a best in class service, listening to it’s customers and their evolving requirements.

Next development in Distrelec growth plan

Commenting on his new role Herd states; “Establishing the Enterprise Hub was a real step change for Distrelec and really placed the focus on the customer at the centre of everything we do.  The new role is the next development in Distrelec’s growth plan and allows us to create an even stronger connection between the Product and Marketing teams. We have some challenging goals ahead but with the new teams in place I am excited about what we can achieve. Our priority is ensuring our customers have the products, tools and support they need, all in one place.  Our suppliers have reacted very positively to the news and we’re looking forward to even closer collaborations in 2019.”
