Nexans, a worldwide leader in the cable industry, has been given a prestigious Intra.Net Reloaded Award at this year's we.CONECT Intra.Net Reloaded Awards 2014. Winning in the Intranet Integration Strategy & Digital Workplace Management category, Nexans was recognised for its new intranet, which was rolled out in late 2013.
Nexans recently introduced its new intranet which allows staff to more easily access information across the group and collaborate with colleagues, create communities in a few clicks, share content and access work tools, no matter their function or where they are in the world. As a result, the number of active users of the group intranet has almost tripled to 10300, while the number of page views has risen 30% to 1.3 million.
The judges praised the project for the way in which the intranet met the group's collaboration needs, increasing engagement among staff at Nexans. They also complimented the project for enabling each user to build his/her own customised digital workplace adapted to his job.
The prize money picked up by the winners of the three categories (Intranet Integration Strategy & Digital Workplace Management, User Experience Design & Content Management, Innovative Technology Integration) was donated to charity.
Christophe Ralite, Online Communications Manager at Nexans who led the team responsible for overseeing the build of the new intranet commented on the win "It's a great honour to receive this award. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the team that designed and implemented the new intranet."
Christophe Ralite continued "The intranet is dynamic and we can modify and iterate it as time goes on, so this award is just the beginning. We will continue to improve the intranet to ensure that the high level of engagement we have seen from Nexans staff continues and to enable these staff to find new more efficient and productive ways of working."
