Nord Drivesystems' Canadian subsidiary turns 25

On January 1st, 2011, a mile stone was reached by the Canadian subsidiary of the North German manufacturer Nord Drivesystems: Nord Gear Limited, based in Brampton, Ontario, celebrated its 25th jubilee and a continuing success story. Ever since its foundation in 1986, Nord Gear has represented local availability to Canadian customers combined with the expertise of a global player.
The large industrial gear units with torques of up to 200.000 Nm in a UNICASE housing, for instance, were launched in Canada in 2010. The single-piece gearcase integrates all bearing seats, ensuring high resistance against radial and axial loads. When the production and storage center was inaugurated in 1997, it already became clear that bigger capacities would become necessary. Consequently, in 2008, Nord Gear built an extension which almost doubled the shop floor.
