The scalable measuring, control, and automation system JUMO mTRON T can be extended by additional operating panels on the basis of CODESYS V3.5 SP3. The new panels have a touchscreen with a diagonal screen measurement of between 3.5" and 15" and are provided in a neutral design. They have CODESYS PLC, as well as target and Web visualization.
As a basic model, JUMO mTRON T offers a multifunction panel 840 with an 8.4" TFT touchscreen. Among other things, the multifunction panel features user administration with access to parameter and configuration data for the whole system, predefined screen masks for service, controller, program generator, and recording functions (including batch reporting), and customer-specific process screens.
Up to four of the operating panels presented can be connected to a JUMO mTRON T central processing unit using CODESYS project design. The visualization is carried out via customer-specific process screens. The advantage of this solution lies in the fact that it allows direct access to the PLC variables of the JUMO mTRON T via CODESYS DataServer. It also means that there are no costs for external PC programming software.
Advanced functions on bimetal switches
Bimetal switches from JUMO are used in a wide variety of applications, for example in cooling or heating circuits, compressors, or engines. The switches are now even better suited to applications in compact plants. The switching element is placed directly in the heating process and can be combined with a temperature sensor.
Bimetal switches are threaded and can be directly screwed into the process. This saves considerable time during installation and offers a decisive advantage for local temperature monitoring and indication. The new generation of the JUMO bimetal switch 608301 can now also be combined with a Pt1000 temperature sensor. This means two functions are combined in a single enclosure. The temperature sensor can be connected to a controller for controlling the heating process. As before, the bimetal switch mechanically safeguards the process by opening the contact once the switching temperature is reached.
Using the new bimetal switches, users can save half the time and material costs of installing the sensors. This is because two installation locations used to be necessary: one for the temperature sensor and one for the bimetal switch. Thanks to the new switch/sensor combination, one of these installation spots is no longer required. The compact design of the fitting means that the switch/sensor combination can even be easily installed in difficult to reach places and smaller plants.
