Led Microsensor NT, distributed by Alfa Photonics, has introduced a new cost-effective MDS-4 optical sensor module for methane detection. Based on the unique components - middle-infrared LED and photodiode - this sensor features low power consumption, fast response time, compact sizes and can be integrated in every analyzing system with minimal efforts. An improved optical cell provides the ability to detect methane concentration down to 100 ppm. Owing to the reduced power consumption the module is applicable for use within wireless sensor network systems.
Main sensor parameters:
- Methane concentration range (volume): 0-5%; 0-100%;
- Resolution: 100 ppm (for 0-5% volume range);
- Power consumption: < 5 mW;
- Operating temperature range: 0...+40°C (different temperature operation can be available under request) Size: 55x26x14 mm (includes an optical cell and all required electronics);
- Gases: calibrated for methane, but will respond to most hydrocarbons.
