Parameter Chip

The parameter chip from B&R embedded in servo motors, synchronous motors, torque motors and ACOPOS drives ensures seamless detection of all important motor parameters and facilitates automatic system configuration and identification of the entire power system in the application program. These embedded chips contain relevant mechanical and electronic data such as serial number, type, manufacturer specifications, etc. As soon as the encoder is connected to the servo drive and the power is applied to the electronics, the motor is automatically identified. The motor sends its rated parameters and limit parameters to the servo drive. The drive then automatically determines the current limits and current control parameters required for optimal control of the motor.
