    PI Middle East Officially Established

The official establishment of PI Middle East was celebrated with an international event in Dubai on June 29, 2011. Key founding members, including ABB, E+H, Phoenix Contact, P+F, ProSoft, Siemens, Stahl, Turck and Yokogawa, invited customers and business partners to attend and learn more about PI International and the advantages of PROFIBUS and PROFINET. A total of 130 representatives from a wide range of industry sectors participated in the launch event, which was led by Paula Doyle (Chairman PI Middle East).
PI Middle East is responsible for an extremely interesting economic region and supports not only the United Arab Emirates but also Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Tunisia, and Yemen.
In addition, three PI Competence Centers have already been established and accredited in the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and Saudi Arabia to provide local consulting, training, and support for users and manufacturers. A wide variety of training and continuing education opportunities provide participants with solid know-how and contributes to further dissemination of PROFIBUS and PROFINET in the Middle East.
PI Middle East has already got a plurality of members. This figure is expected to rise, according to PI Chairman Joerg Freitag who reported on the excellent market position and growth potential of PROFIBUS and PROFINET at the inauguration event in Dubai, "This region's extremely strong market growth opens up many opportunities for use of PROFIBUS and PROFINET. With our new regional PI organization and our three accredited PI Competence Centers, we are very well positioned to provide users and manufacturers with the best possible support. I am confident that this will be reflected very soon in the membership numbers and in new industrial projects."
