Piezo Actuators

Encapsulated in a hermetically sealed and inert gas filled stainless steel casing, PICMA stack multilayer piezo actuators, from PI Ceramic, are suitable for extreme operating conditions that are characterized by oil, water splash, or high humidity. The casing is ultra high vacuum compatible to 10^-9hPa. A high displacement can be achieved with a piezo voltage of -20 to 120V. Encapsulated versions of the actuators are available in different sizes; Ø11.2×22.5mm for a stroke/displacement of 14µm, and Ø11.2×40.5mm for a stroke/displacement of up to 30µm. Higher forces can be generated with a version measuring Ø18.6×22.5mm with a maximum stroke/displacement of 14µm. Mounting can be achieved by clamping or gluing.
