Piezoelectric Force Washers

The CFW piezoelectric force washers from HBM for production monitoring applications are compact enabling easy direct integration into the force flow, for example, in assembly and testing applications. The measuring body features a split diaphragm (patent pending) ensuring higher linearity than conventional designs. Perfect test results are attained even if forces are not applied centrically. The design, which features high torsional stiffness, automatically centres the sensor through its external and internal diameter without producing any hysteresis errors. The sensor is very robust for use in harsh industrial environments. Integrated plug protection prevents mechanical damage to the measuring lead. The sensor is initially available with nominal forces of 50 and 140kN. Since its sensitivity of 4.3 pC/N is independent of the measuring range, all common assembly and testing applications can be covered.
