igus has launched a new heavy duty version of its robust igubal clip spherical bearings. The easy-to-fit heavy duty bearings can withstand high loads, provide exceptional rotational, linear or swivelling movements, and as they are plastic do not require regular maintenance. As a result, downtime is avoided and the low weight ensures clearly energy-efficient operation. The heavy duty plastic bearings are corrosion-free, chemical-resistant and impervious against dirt and dust which means they are reliable and provide a long life in arduous environments. The new range has been developed for machines and plant systems that have a minimum of available space. The bearings can be fitted easily, simply clipping into place with no additional axial securing. They are good for applications where the bearing position is accessible from one side only, for example in closed machine housings or in a façade. Compact and designed to be fitted into sheets with a thickness of 4 to 8 mm, the light-weight bearings can absorb extremely high loads up to 12.5 kN radially and 350 N axially. The pre-tension of collar and locating lug compensates the clearance in two axes.
