Plastic screws are used in a wide variety of applications and offer a number of benefits compared with metal products: They provide stability, yet at the same time are particularly lightweight and they do not rust. Misumi has expanded its portfolio of special plastic components for the European market. The portfolio includes Philips-head tallow-drop screws and hexagon socket head screws made from glass-fibre-reinforced polyamide (RENY), polyphenylene sulphide (PPS) and polyetheretherketone (PEEK). The company is now able to tap into additional areas of application with specific material requirements, for which conventional screw materials would not be suitable.
