This year at Compamed (Dusseldorf, 18th-21st November) Portescap will present its precision motors designed for use in medical technology, as well as several application demonstrations with surgical hand tools, robotically assisted surgical devices and infusion systems. Their motors, encoders and gearheads provide power and precision with extremely small footprints. The goal of this presentation is to demonstrate how OEMs can benefit from engaging with Portescap design engineers for collaborative innovation at an early stage.

An added value of customization offered when the collaboration is engaged early in the R&D stages

Jamie Gerwirtz, R&D Manager for Surgical Motors at Portescap explains: “By working in partnership with our customers as early as the ideation stage of a new project, we can create highly differentiated custom concepts that are truly unique to their application. The benefits of early collaborative innovation then feed through to the project, including rapid prototyping and testing, as well as final lead times as low as 14 days for some customized solutions.”
