Posital's PROFINET IRT encoders from the OPTOCODE series, enable a quick and easy migration from Profibus to the Ethernet-based successor standard. The PROFINET encoders can be easily exchanged. During initial installation, the IP address is allocated through the configuration software. The compact devices feature an integrated switch which also acts as a repeater. The switch automatically recognizes crossover or standard Ethernet cable connections and renders terminating resistors unnecessary. The encoder's Baud rate is automatically adapted according to the controller's Baud rate. Equipped with M12 plug connectors, the units do not require time-consuming wiring or shielding efforts.
