The 21th of June, at the stadium Pierre Mauroy of Villeneuve-d'Ascq, Lille, took place the latest edition of the Techday, the event organized by RS Components to gather and put in contact its partners and clients, while creating new networking opportunities.

This edition saw the participation of about 400 attendees and 48 manufacturers, and the presence of prestigious grandes écoles, such as the Ensam of Lille, the Mines Telecom of Douai and the Arts et Métiers Paristech of Paris. Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and Cyber Security were among the main topics investigated in specific conference sessions.

Multiple customer services

Within this context, attendees were able to take a closer look at RS range of services and client-oriented solutions, among which we especially mention DesignSpark, a free 3D CAD modeling software, developed by RS Components in collaboration with Space Claim Corporation, that makes it possible for customer to transform their ideas into a real project and get it ready for 3D-printing. The software is available after a one-time registration and features an archive of open-access technical resources.

Another interesting service is the E-business solution, that allows customers to find the perfect ally to manage effectively online sales and invoicing. This often translates into substantial cost and time savings.

RS: Ideas worth spreading

RS considerably invests in educational programs and in the promotion of startups established by young talents and students, to help them develop their groundbreaking ideas. Some of these young and innovative companies were invited to participate at the Techday in Lille. Attendees could therefore learn more about their state-of-art solutions and see the prototypes or finished products first-hand. Zac, for instance, is a virtual assistance in the shape of a nice little cat that interacts with the user through the most advanced principles of voice control and recognition for home automation. It was developed by Vivoka, a startup founded by a group of 15 French students who – thanks to RS marketing and commercial strength – could completely focus on their project which is available in French and English speaking luxury markets. RS Components has recently released a promotional video, to present Vivoka and ZAC.

The location: The Stade Pierre Mauroy

The Techday took place in the prestigious location of Stade Pierre Mauroy, the modern stadium of Lille inaugurated in 2012. The stadium is a multifunctional arena that is adaptable for different events: football matches, large concerts but also smaller events. It is equipped with a retractable roof and can be transformed in a functional arena with 30,000 seats. For these characteristics, it is considered one of the most important stadium in France.
