Safety Modules

Suitable for motion monitoring, Kübler’s Safety-M modules offer all functions required for drive monitoring according to EN-61800-5-2. Featuring a modular construction, they can be extended from the simple overspeed relay up to a complete safety control. In addition, the modules are freely programmable for the safe processing of light barriers, door monitoring, emergency stop/off pushbuttons, two-hand control units and so on. Basic module comes with 14 safe inputs, a safe relay output and two safe digital outputs. Several bus modules such as CANopen, Profibus, Profinet and EtherCAT are also available. The graphic programming using symbols has a simple structure that does not require prior programming knowledge. The modules can be parameterized following programming. Machine specific parameters can be modified during the assembly or on the field, without the need for software adaptation. The modules can print out a software validation report as part of safe control. Technical features include a comprehensive library for pre-configured safety sensor and safety command devices, parameterizable encoder interfaces, contact multiplication or contact amplification via external contactors, comprehensive firmware-based diagnostic functions, a 7-segment LED display for coded status indication, quit/start/rest button, and expansion possibility to up to 65 safe I/Os with an integrated backplane bus.
